Once upon a time, in a far away land, where people eat falafel and go to the beach on Yom Kippur, a series of uncanny karmic circumstances brought about a meeting of destinies.

And we all know that if we don’t find our destiny…… it finds us

After a brief chance encounter, Jay sent a telegramme to Elaine and romance opened it. And as by this time, Elaine was at a point in her life-journey where she could recognise the potential of a telegramme , Jay was at a point in his life-journey where the potential of a telegramme was more than a telegramme, Elaine and Jay embraced romance and each other ..

And after a brief courtship, married in rustic setting amidst quacks and snorts, dancing down the aisle to the Rabbi and a loving future.

Eden entered the world in dramatic style in March 1998, attached to a respirator which beeped and bleeped for 2 weeks whilst Eden gathered the strength to breathe.

We cried, we hoped, we prayed, we held her little hand ….

And once she breathed, boy did she breathe. Eden, today aged 7, knows boundless energy, almost no limits, and is a source of great joy and pride to Mom and Dad. A miracle.

Amit, on the other hand, born in 2002, entered the world in Moldova and took a year to meet his destiny.
That means us.                   

With the help of the Laughing Child Agency, chosen for its name and promise, Elaine and Jay had decided to adopt a little boy, a son, a brother, a friend and another miracle.

Amit joined our family and our heritage, entered into the Covenant of Israel, and knows love. He is truly a Laughing Child.

As you create your destiny through the choices you make, you create your family through the love and the journey you share. You realise that the power of the family is equal to the power of the world. And Elaine and Jay continue their journey, with at least two miracles, some romance, a lot of noise and karmic promise.

And the Cohen family sings it's song.
